London Wednesday Night Skate 2002

by Daniel on October 27th, 2011

The London Wednesday Night Skate is officially back for 2002. Although this is unofficial news by finding their unreleased new website (ooops ), we’re pretty sure it will be the infamous Camden route – if we’re wrong, we’re sorry, but hey – it’ll be a surprise!

“Out of the park at Hyde park corner, down Piccadily, up Shaftsbury Avenue, left into Wardour Street, Right into Old Compton Street, Left into Charing Cross Road, straight up Tottenham Court Road, Straight up Hampstead Road into Camden, All the way through Camden High Street, Chalk Farm Road, left into Park Road and across a very wide railway bridge, straight across into Regents Park Road, Right onto Prince Albert Road, Left into Park road leading all the way on until Baker Street, across Oxford Street, second right into Green Street, (which ever one is not the no entry sign), Left onto Park Lane, back into the Park at Hyde Park corner.”

Salomon are supporting the London Skate for a second year. In recognition of the awesome track record that they have built over the years for running free, fun and safe street skates Salomon have agreed to sponsor them again! This year Salomon have given the WNS full red carpet treatment. The core group of marshals will all be sporting Salomon FSK Crossmax skates kindly sponsored by Salomon. Not only that but they are holding a massive launch skate and party on 8th May with support from Salomon. Highlights will include an open top beer bus following the skate through London, a massive roller disco in the evening and then the party carries on in the open top bus with a ride around town at midnight. Let’s make sure they get at least 1,000 people turning up – the drinks are free so that should be easy!!

This year hopefully sees a massive amount of events and giveaways to make sure that 2002 London Skate is not only the best Wednesday night skate season but the best London streetskate FULL STOP. Well, they were the first mass skate through London back in the early days and it has just got better and better each year. They hope to be able to give you food and drink freebies on some skates, we will run competitions with amazing skating and fashion prizes, and London Skate will be organising for you to attend all the major free skating events overseas. Not to mention the tie up that they are working on with the biggest sports event in the UK.
